Abstract:

A question often arising in the operation of the home help with emergency alarm is the extent to which the technical capabilities of the system meet expectations. On the basis of the findings it can be said that the professional heads regarded the work of the technical services as being of a high standard. The services and equipment in general meet the professional expectations made of them.

Aims/Objectives/Background:

A question often arising in the operation of the home help with emergency alarm is the extent to which the technical capabilities of the system meet expectations. To answer this we carried out a survey in April 2002 in the settlements concerned.

Findings/outcome/conclusion/research questions:

On the basis of the findings it can be said that the professional heads regarded the work of the technical services as being of a high standard. The services and equipment in general meet the professional expectations made of them. The areas most in need of development appear to be servicing and the improvement of communication between service provider and carer.
