Abstract:

The paper deals with searching connections between religiosity and quality of life in senior population. The topic is coming out of the increasing social stress on searching ways how to best support the concept of quality of life within individual and population aging. Pursuant to findings of many foreign studies, which mainly document very positive correlation, we have been proving whether and to what extent is religiosity respectively spirituality an intervening force for quality of life of Czech seniors. The first part of the paper summarizes theoretical conceptions of the terms religiosity, spirituality and quality of life and their mutual interaction. The second part deals with the question of application of these connections to domestic surroundings. The analyses used the data from the European Value Survey.
