Abstract:

The main objective of the study was to learn about active ageing in the Warmia-Mazury. The specific research objectives include: 1. know the kinds of social activity of older people; 2. understanding the determinants (barriers and factors favouring), among others social and health to undertake activities for the elderly; 3. know the benefits of engaging in activities by older people; 4. understanding the needs of older people in the sphere of social activity; 5. enlisting the services and types of support centres and district centres for family assistance for the elderly and local actions carried out in favour of the elderly (developing the results of this chapter will be presented in the second research report).

The sample comprised 296 people from 25 institutions organizing activities for the elderly, including persons from the age of 60 years.
