Abstract:

The process of ageing is a worldwide problem, especially pronounced in the countries of the European region. Not surprisingly a symbolic expression is used that Europe is the continent in “its autumn”. There have been elderly people and centenarians in all ages of the historical development and they have always determined the nature of the population pyramid. This process is falling behind in meeting the needs of medical and social care for the elderly and people with disabilities in the regulations of the Republic of Bulgaria. Their insufficient regulation creates differences in approaches to providing health care, which on the other hand leads to permanent dissatisfaction with the quality of services.
