Abstract:

The aim of the article is to briefly present the project “Financial Literacy as Part of the Preparation for Old Age”, implemented at the Research Institute for Labour and Social Affairs, within the framework of the grant project “Active Aging: the Family and Intergenerational Solidarity.” The aim of this research is to analyse the orientation of the population at pre-pension age as regards questions linked to issues concerning individual pension planning.

Target group: people near to retirement age

Sample:

N=1541

Aims/Objectives/Background:

To map plans of people near to retirement age regarding lifestyle in retirement and asset management before retirement. The study focuses on need for financial literacy and knowledge as a precondition of retirement planning.

Findings/outcome/conclusion/research questions:

Only half of Czech population is preparing for the retirement age in the time ahead. Those who do not prepare r plan their finances do not have sufficient funds.
