Abstract:

Social inequalities are usually addressed in laws and policies through one - dimensional and one - category approach, without considering the real needs of the people receiving social assistance. The aim of the study is to examine the intersectionality in inequality, understood as the interplay between different categories/personal characteristics or statuses of individuals while examining such inequalities. The project will identify whether, how and to what extent a miss - match between the real needs of the socially disadvantaged persons (personal identity level), the needs as identified in the public policies (structural level) and those constructed and perceived in the society (symbolic level) exists
